Largest Ringing Bell on Earth

What's the largest bell you've seen? Did you ever try ringing a bell on top of a church?

The world's largest ringing bell, Mingun Bell {picture}, is still hung in Sagaing and can still ring. The city of Sagaing is just opposite of Mandalay. It is 26 feet high and weighs 90.55 metric tons (55555 peik-thar*). That's the white text written on the bell, saying "55555".

You can ring it. You can get underneath it and take photo. Ah! Isn't that exciting? Hit it with your fist and shout "I've rung the world's greatest ringing bell!" ["peik-thar": a Myanmar traditional unit of weight measurement, which equals to 3.6 pounds or 1.63 kilograms]
Largest Broken Bell

The world's largest bell known widely today, the Tsar Bell-III (Tsar-Kolokol) in Moscow, was cast in 1733-35, weighing about 400,000 pounds (180 metric tons); broken by fire in 1737, it never rang. I guess they needed Physics to make the bell ring.

The World's Largest Bell Underwater

The Great Bell of Dhammazedi is known to be the largest or the heaviest bell in the whole world, although it still is under water. Casted by King Dhammazedi of Myanmar in Yangon, and was donated to Shwedagon Pagoda. The great bell was a victim of Portugal colonialism was removed and taken to Thanlyin (Syrium) across Dawpone River where the great bell and the boat sank together ever since. Largest Reclining Buddha

Chaukhtatgyi Buddha

Chaukhtatgyi Buddha is the largest reclining Buddha in the world.

Located on Shwegondine Road, this colossal (70 meters long) reclining Buddha is one of the largest images in Myanmar. The original image was built in 1907. But it has suffered damage due to climate over the years. In 1957 it was demolished and rebuilt to this structure in 1966
Shwethalyaung Buddha

The Shwethalyaung, a colossal reclining statue of Buddha (181 feet [55 m] long), is to the west of the modern town and is reputedly one of the most lifelike of all the reclining Buddha figures; allegedly built in AD-994, it was lost when Bago (Pegu) was destroyed in 1757 but was rediscovered under a cover of jungle growth in 1881.

Shwethalyaung Buddha is the second largest reclining Buddha.

Largest Book on Earth

Buddhist scriptures were engraved on 729 white marble tablets and are regarded by Myanmar Buddhists as orthodox texts. Authorized by King Mindon as a result of the Fifth Buddhist Council, the tablets are set up in a square, each being protected by a small temple. The 730th pagoda is a conventional temple occupying the centre of the square. Each marble tablets are about 3' wide and 4' height.

It is known as Ku Tho Daw Phayar, situated at the foot of Mandalay Hill, Mandalay.

The Genius Monk

The Man who could learn the whole CD-Rom-full of Buddhist bible by heart is called U Wiseiktha Tharar Biwuntha from Myanmar. He was a well-known Buddhist monk and the first man in history who could learn the whole CD-Rom-full of Buddhist scriptures by heart. He passed away in 1994.
